A Lauderdale County man was killed early Sunday by a single gunshot wound to the chest in an incident a sheriff's department spokesman said stemmed from a domestic dispute.
Deputy Coroner Clayton Cobler said Robbin Morgan, 46, a resident of Paulding Road, was shot with a handgun. Cobler said Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, near his home, at 1:55 a.m.
Maj. Ward Calhoun, a spokesman for the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department, said it is still early in the investigation of the shooting and that no arrests have been made.
Calhoun said the landlord, Andy Barry, apparently shot Morgan while he was trying to enter the motor home. Calhoun added there were several witnesses to the incident.
Calhoun said Morgan's wife, Tammy White, had injuries that resulted from the domestic dispute. She was treated at a local hospital and released.
Calhoun said deputies received an Emergency-911 call to the scene at about 1:45 a.m. The home is in the 2700 block of Paulding Road in southwest Lauderdale County, near the Lost Gap community.
