EMCC plays in daylight

SCOOBA East Mississippi Community College will hit the road for only the second time and will be play afternoon game of year when its squares off against Mississippi Delta Community College on Saturday.
The Lions (2-2) played three of their first four games at home and all on Thursday prior to this weekend's trip to Moorhead.
EMCC's 2 p.m. contest with MDCC is the first of three consecutive Saturday afternoon games for the Lions, and it is the first of three straight homecoming games for the team.
The Lions host Holmes Community College at 2 p.m. on Oct. 11 in their own homecoming game, and EMCC will travel to Senatobia for Northwest Community College's 2 p.m. homecoming contest on Oct. 18.
Goode said he is not bothered by having to go on the road for two opponents' homecomings.
While Goode said he doesn't like playing on Saturday, the extra time between the Lions' 41-26 loss to Itawamba on Sept. 25 and the game against the Trojans did have its benefits for the Lions.
EMCC players were able to take some time off from the game thanks to the extra days between contests. The Lions do not have a bye week on their schedule.
The additional time between games also gave the Lions' coaching staff time to prepare for a diverse Trojans' offense.
MDCC has used a two-quarterback system so far this season, and the team has found success in both throwing the ball and running the option.
Along with preparing for the Trojans' multiple-offensive looks, the Lions have been trying to find a hole in MDCC's No. 1-ranked defense.
