Ivey, Evans

Audrey Leigh Evans and Jacob Ashton Ivey were married Saturday, June 21, 2003, at 5 p.m. at Cooper's Chapel United Methodist Church in Quitman. The Rev. Dale Eakes of Louin officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. William G. Evans, and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel F. Ivey, all of Quitman.
Grandparents of the bride are Hazel Harrell of Quitman and the late Glyn L. Harrell, Marie Evans of Quitman and Mr. and Mrs. Grady Evans of Plentywood, Mont.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude Manley, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ivey, all of Quitman.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Wendell Carney, pianist; and Jason Ivey, brother of the bridegroom, vocalist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a pearl matte satin strapless gown with cafe colored embroidery edging at the neckline, waistline and hemline of the A-line skirt that flowed into a chapel-length train. Her one tier cathedral-length veil was edge with cording. She carried a mixed bouquet of green and Virginia white roses accented with bare grass and tied with a satin ribbon.
Meridith Shepherd of Quitman, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lane Scott and Kristen Rolison, both of Quitman, Tiffany Cooper of Gulfport, Emily Green of Laurel and Dana Barry of Purvis.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Jason Ivey of Nashville, Will Evans of Quitman, brother of the bride, John Ishee of Pachuta, Michael Oates of Quitman and Brent Barry of Purvis.
Ushers were Daniel Seguin of Gulfport, Mark Weaver of Newton and McElvin Shepherd of Quitman, all cousins of the bride, Matt Mayo of Quitman and Shaun Toney of Desoto.
Shae Miller was registry attendant.
On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the bridegroom hosted a rehearsal dinner.
A reception was was held in the garden at Middleton Place, the Colonial home of Dr. and Mrs. Charles W. Shepherd Jr., following the ceremony. The couple arrived for the reception and left for their honeymoon in a 1928 Ford Speedster.
Tea girls were Brooke Boney and Ashton Stewart. Ashley Giardina served as registry attendant at the reception.
Assisting at the reception were Linda Mayo, Sarah Pierce, Dianne Holloman, Peggy Doggett, Sharon Holloman and Lola Sumrall.
After a honeymoon in Seaside, Fla., the couple resides in Birmingham, Ala.
