Maurine Horton Lackey, 83, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, in Aiken, S.C.
She was a native of Conehatta in Newton County, and had lived in Aiken for more than 50 years.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, James Lackey; two daughters, Judy Cunningham and her husband, Joe, of Aiken and Glenda Bunce of Columbia, S.C.; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Estelle Robbins Horton; sisters, Janie Milling of Decatur and Maudie Mae Merrifield of Indianapolis, Ind.; and brothers, Woodrow Horton of Conehatta and Leon Horton of Jackson.

DEKALB Services for Bertha Stephens will be held today at 2 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Hull officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Stephens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stephens, 85, of DeKalb, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at Mississippi Care Center in DeKalb.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Waddell and her husband, Keith, of New Albany; sons, Tommy Stephens and his wife, Katha, of Daleville and Paul Stephens and his wife, Jackie, of DeKalb; brothers, Tommy Baty of Aberdeen and J.B. Baty of York, Ala.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Stephens Jr.
Memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church.

Services for Fannie Ruth Walters will be held today at 2 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel in Union with the Revs. Rusty Walton and Franklin McClelland officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ms. Walters, 92, of Union, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, in Lauderdale County.
Survivors include her daughter, Delphine and her husband, Gerald, of Butler, Ala.; two sons, Ronald Walters and his wife, Sally, of Union; and Donald Walters and his wife, Fran, of Newton; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Preston Walters and a son, John Harrell Walters.
Pallbearers will be Randy Walters, Scotty Walters, Larry Lucas, Clint Mott, Tim Barnett and Wayne McCraw.

Services for Marilyn Sue Jones will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Carmel Baptist Church with the Revs. Davey Wilkinson and Bill Webb officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Jones, 61, of Enterprise, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, in her home. She was a homemaker and retired from Peavey Electronics.
Survivors include her daughters, Sherri Napp and her husband, Bobby, of Enterprise and Donna Hauptman and her husband, Andy, of Madison; a son, Darin Jones of Enterprise; five grandchildren, Daniel Napp, Josh Napp, Andrew Napp, Stormy Hauptman, and Cameron Hauptman; sisters, Faye Hollingsworth and JoAnn Reese, both of Meridian; brothers, DeMar Wilkinson and Doyce Wilkinson, both of Mobile, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Josie Wilkinson and D.D. Wilkinson and her sister, Mary Graham.
Memorials may be made to Carmel Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Buster Phillips, David Wilkinson, Joe Wilkinson, John Tester, Billy Wilkinson and Larry Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Clay Jones, Leslie Reese, Wade Wilkinson and Jason Roberson.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Sunday noon- 1 p.m. at the church.
Retired owner, operator of Truhett Fabric Center
PHILADELPHIA Services for Juanita Culberson Truhett will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Stanley Barnett and Lawrence Runnels officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Truhett, 82, of Philadelphia, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at Okahatta Care Center in Decatur. She was born and reared in Neshoba County and had made her home in Philadelphia for the past 50 years. She and her husband were owners of Truhett Grocery Store in Philadelphia for a number of years.
Mrs. Truhett was the retired owner and operator of Truhett Fabric Center in Philadelphia and was a charter member of North Calvary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include her daughters, Lynda Stribling of Philadelphia; Ann Bullock of Decatur; Pam Truhett of Jackson; and Paula Therrell of Brandon; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Myrtle DeWeese of Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Truhett.
The family requests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
Pallbearers will be Bill Culberson, Tommy DeWeese, Bob Luke, Frank Luke, David Curtis and Larry Lewis.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

FOREST Services for Jackie Suzanne Yarbrough will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ephesus Baptist Church. Burial will be in Unity Assembly of God Cemetery with Ott &Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Yarbrough, 15, of Forest, died Thursday, August 14, 2003, after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident at Pleasant Ridge Road. She was a 10th grade student at Lake High School.
Miss Yarbrough was born on May 17, 1988 in Jackson. She had been a lifelong resident of the Ring Gold Community in Scott County and attended Unity Assembly of God Church in Forest. She participated in numerous beauty pageants throughout her life in which she won many beauty titles, some of those being Miss Scott County, twice, and Miss Baby Chick, once.
Miss Yarbrough was a dance and gymnastics student for 10 years and an art student for five years. She served as a 9th grade cheerleader and head cheerleader in Junior High School. She was elected Miss Lake Middle School in 2001 and a Homecoming Freshman maid.
At the time of her death, she was a 10th grade student at Lake High School where she was a member of the Beta Club and the Gifted Class. She loved shopping, swimming, dancing, and being with her friends and family.
Survivors include her parents, Jimmy and Penny Yarbrough, a brother, Jared Yarbrough, and maternal grandfather, Udell Sessions, all of Forest; paternal grandparents, James and Cathryn Yarbrough of Philadelphia; maternal great-grandparents, J.D. and Louise Lewis of Lena; maternal great-grandfather, Eric Eugene Rasco of Cash; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jackie Sessions and Gary Rasco, her paternal grandmother, Bobbie "L.V." Yarbrough, and her maternal great-grandmother, Jewel Rasco.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial services for Hazel Robinson will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness with Minister John Cobb officiating. A private family burial will be held at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Robinson, 85, of Meridian, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, in Meridian. She was a retired nurse and homemaker.
Survivors include her two sons, Michael L. Robinson and his wife, Sheila, of Laurel; and Ronald Robinson of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.S. Robinson.
