Services for Alice R. Brown will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive
Baptist Church with the Rev. David Mosley officiating. Burial will be in
Forest Lawn Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
Ms. Brown, 57, of Meridian, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at Jeff
Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Akines and her husband, Mark,
Zina Brown and her husband, Stan, Detrice Cross and her husband, Frankie,
and Pamela Conley and her husband, Ken; a son, Shawn Brown and his wife,
Tabitha, all of Meridian; a sister, Henrietta Reed of Daytona, Fla.;
brothers, Robert Harris and his wife, Betty, of Meridian, Sylvester Brown
and his wife, Emma, of Fairfield, Calif., and Billy Brown of Chicago; an
aunt, Annie Lou McDonald of St. Louis; eight grandchildren, Brandi, Martell,
Asia, Thomas II, India, Tyler, Sydney and Aliayah; and several nieces,
nephew, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Thursday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Director of respiratory therapy at Baptist Women?s Hospital
MEMPHIS, Tenn. ? Services for Darrell Elwyn Smith will be held today at
noon at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park
Cemetery.
Mr. Smith, 59, of Memphis, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at Methodist
Central Hospital.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Mary Smith of Memphis; a
daughter, Dawn Smith of New York, N.Y.; his father, J.D. Smith of
Huntingdon, Tenn.; a sister, Carolyn Dyer of Huntingdon; brothers, Randall
Smith of Tupelo and John David Smith of Huntingdon.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
Graveside services for Louise Horn Watkins will be held today at 2 p.m.
at Hickory Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Dabbs officiating. James F. Webb
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Watkins, 88, of Meridian, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at Rush
Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her sons, Franklin Watkins and R.D. ?Pink? Watkins.

Services for Ruth Hodgins will be held today at 2 p.m. at Stephens
Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jason Byrd and W.B. Webb officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Collinsville.
Ms. Hodgins, 82, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 13, 2003, at Jeff
Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was retired from ladies apparel sales.
Survivors include her sister, Eddice Hodgins Ethridge of Meridian; a
brother, Edward Max Hodgins and his wife, Ivonne, of Meridian;
sisters-in-law, Jennie Hodgins and Carolyn Hodgins; nieces and nephews,
Brenda E. Banes and her husband, Renny, Michael R. Ethridge and his wife,
Joy, Terrie E. Ridinger and her husband, Walter, Sandra H. Salli and her
husband, Joe, Paul McDermitt, Rodger Hodgins, Wanda H. Cansler, Suzie
Hodgins, Randy Hodgins, Rodge Hodgins and his wife, Amy, Ray Hodgins and his
wife, Cindy, Johnny Hodges and his wife, Kim, Leigh H. Shores and her
husband, Todd, and Lynn H. Arrington and her husband, Lamar; and 23
great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rodger Hodgins and Freddie
Simmons Hodgins; brothers, Curtis Hodgins and Robert Kline Hodgins; and a
brother-in-law, J.C. Ethridge.
Pallbearers will be Redge Hodgins, Mike Ethridge, Johnny Hodgins, Kyle
Ethridge, Walter Ridinger and Drew Ridinger.
