Calla Grill closes

Citing a poor economy and financial losses, local restaurateur Terry Clark has closed the Calla Grill on Poplar Springs Drive in Meridian.
Clark, who remodeled and expanded facilities in 2001, said he made what he termed a very difficult decision and closed the restaurant last Friday.
Clark also said the restaurant's demanding hours he frequently worked 18-hour days also took a toll on him personally.
Clark had rented the building. Nine employees lost their jobs with the restaurant's closing, but some of them have found other work.
Clark said he had no immediate plans on what to do with the restaurant's equipment, which he owns.
