Brashier to become principal at Lamar

Lamar School officials will announce today that Fred Brashier, retiring principal of Poplar Springs Elementary School, will become the private school's middle and high school principal.
Current Principal Mac Barnes said the appointment will be made today at 3 p.m.
Barnes said he will take over teaching Lamar's character education classes and other new programs, including community service, that school officials plan to implement.
The changes take will take effect at the beginning of the 2003-04 school year.
Brashier, 53, submitted his resignation to the Meridian School Board two weeks ago. His last day at Poplar Springs is June 30.
