Clarkdale Bulldogs shut down Quitman on soccer field, 9-0

Clarkdale's David Prewitt scored six goals to lead the Bulldogs to a season opening 9-0 win over Quitman on Friday at Bulldog Stadium.
Prewitt scored four of his goals in the first half as the Bulldogs built a 5-0 lead. He played just 12 minutes in the second half but still notched two more goals to give him six for the night.
Also scoring goals for Clarkdale were Justin Culpepper, William Clinton and Aaron Fortin.
Jonathan Pickett had two assists.
The Clarkdale Lady Bulldogs also won its season opener beating the Quitman girls 5-0.
Clarkdale returns to action on Tuesday night against Meridian High.
Meridian 2
Northeast 0
The Meridian Wildcats won its second game of the season turning back Northeast Lauderdale 2-0 on Friday night.
Andrew Gambrell scored both of Meridian's goals. Keeper Chris Kitchens was credited with two saves.
Northeast falls to 0-1 with the loss.
Following a game with Clarkdale, Meridian will play in the Northwest Rankin Tournament beginning next Wednesday.
