D.T. Grinders Restaurant &Pub, a longtime eatery in an antebellum home at 1600 24th Ave. near downtown Meridian, has closed its doors.
Owners Monty Earlywine and Edward Robinson were unavailable for comment Tuesday. The two owned the restaurant for more than five years.
The restaurant was known for its annual Shrimp Fest. It served New Orleans-style cuisine.
Terry Clark, a longtime friend and owner of Calla Grill, a restaurant in North Hills, said he had spoken with Earlywine who attributed the closing to the economy.
