Sept. 15, 2002
ENTERPRISE A sixth injury to Enterprise first baseman Amanda Parker seemed to take the starch out of the Lady Bulldogs here against visiting Northeast Lauderdale.
Then again, Northeast got hot with the bats and carried the swing into the second game to complete a two-game sweep of Enterprise 13-4 and 11-6 Saturday afternoon at the Enterprise diamond.
Enterprise was down just 3-1 going into Northeast's at bat in the sixth. Danielle McCoy hit into a force out at second base but still made a turn toward second. On the throw back to first, McCoy ran into Parker's leg.
Parker hurt her knee/leg and was taken to the hospital in her parent's minivan. The game resumed and so did the Lady Trojans' bats.
Northeast would go on to score nine runs in the inning getting eight hits and three Enterprise errors in the at bat. Blair Rawson and Amber Gray both knocked in a one run each.
Olczak, batting for the second time in the inning, ripped a two-run double to score Raleigh Odom and Gray to make it 11-1. McCoy then tripled in Olczak to up the lead to 12-1.
Northeast coach Chris Harper was elated to see the bats come out from his Lady Trojans.
The double-header sweep lifts Northeast , the defending South State 4A champs and a statewide Top 10 team, to 12-2 on the season. Enterprise slips to 7-5.
Enterprise head coach Jeremy Wilkins said that Parker's injury had an effect on his team.
Enterprise scored three runs in its sixth inning to make it 12-4 in game one. Brittany Speed, Charly Speed and Leslie Speed all hit and scored in the at bat.
For game one, Northeast finished with 19 hits. Grace Ann Watkins was 4-for-5 with three runs scored. Webb and Olczak each had two hits and two RBI. Capri Norris had three hits.
Parker had a RBI double in the fourth inning to cut a 3-0 Northeast lead to 3-1. Leslie Speed had two hits and two runs scored. Kacey Jimmerson knocked in two runs off a sixth inning single.

Blair Rawson and Jennifer Bristow led off with singles and then scored off a fly ball from Watkins and a a two-out single from Odom. Olczak then belted a two-run double to plate Odom and Gray for a 10-4 lead.
Enterprise got two runs back in the bottom of the seventh when Jessica Finnegan singled and scored off a fielders choice by Brittany Speed. Speed then came in off a RBI double from Charly Speed.
