TERRY DON PARKES
Truck driver
Graveside services for Terry Don Parkes will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jackie Strebeck officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Parkes, 54, of Collinsville, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Parkes; sons, Randy Parkes of Fredericksburg, Va., and Adam Parkes of Meridian; step-sons, Tom Goins of Bailey and Jason Herman of Hot Springs, Ark; five grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Ashley of Collinsville; brothers, Perry Parkes of Colorado Springs, Colo, and Dempsey Parkes, of Suqualena; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today at 10 a.m. at the church.
JAMES W. TEMPLE
Retired
Services for James W. Temple will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home chapel with brother Ennis Hyman officiating. Burial will be in Arkadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Temple, 75, of Meridian, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at the Specialty Hospital of Meridian. He was retired from James River Corp. and a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He was a lifetime member of RSVP, and a member of the VFW.
Survivors include the mother of his children Laura Temple of Meridian; his children, Harold Temple and Myra Hyman and her husband, Micah, all of Meridian; grandchildren, Jennifer and Robin Temple; brothers, Leon Temple, Paul Temple, and Thomas Temple, all of Jackson; sisters, Temp Lowery and her husband, Burnell, of Jackson, Helen Bermudez of Gulfport and Willa Jean Clark of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Curtis Temple and Thelma Temple and a brother, Eric Temple.
Memorials may be made to Arkadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
Pallbearers will be his brothers-in-law and close friends.
OLA J. JONES
Factory worker
DEKALB Services for Ola J. Jones will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Jerusalem Temple in Philadelphia, with the Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Donald Rest Cemetery in Philadelphia. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Jones, 68, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Aug. 6 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian. She was employed as a factory worker.
Survivors include three children, Robert Lee Jones, of Chicago, Dorothy Y. Jones, of Smyrna, Ga., and Rodney J. Jones, of Philadelphia; a brother, Holly Clark and his wife, Lucille, of Chicago; two sisters, Marthis Riddle and her husband, Willie J., of Philadelphia, and Dorothy Clark of Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sibling.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the funeral home and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.
PATRICIA HARDIN GORDON

DOTHAN, Ala. Services for Patricia "Pat" Hardin Gordon will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Gene Gainous and Gillis Crenshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Byrd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gordon, 67, of Cottonwood, Ala., died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at her home. She was born in Meridian and worked as a homemaker and bookkeeper.
Survivors include her husband, David Gordon, of Cottonwood, Ala.; three daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" C. Clark of Dothan, Susan G. Morgan and her husband, Spencer, of Millbrook, Ala., Mary "Ginger" Mansfield and her husband, Don, of Cottonwood; a son, David Lane Gordon and his wife, Sherri, of Dothan; a sister, Janice Hardin Wall of Meridian; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Louis S. and Chesta Virginia Hardin of Meridian.
Memorials may be made to Hodgesville Baptist Church Building Fund, 11190 County Road 33, Dothan, Ala. 36301 or to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Ala. 36302.
Visitation will be Saturday from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
BILLY WAYNE LEWIS
Services for Billy Wayne Lewis will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Lewis, 45, of Meridian, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, in his home.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
