McRae's Department Stores and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Inc. have announced plans to sell a signature lighted pen to support the fight against breast cancer.
The pens will be available in stores June through December. The cost is $5, with $1 of each sale going to the Komen Foundation to benefit the advancement of breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.
McRae's and Younkers Department Stores, both operated by Saks Inc., will make a donation of up to $100,000 to the Komen Foundation with a minimum guaranteed donation of $5,000.
To further support the Komen Foundation, McRae's will be a major event sponsor for various "Race for the Cure" events in the Southeast.
McRae's also will be a sponsor of the Estee Lauder Illumination project, in which local buildings and landmarks are literally "lit up" with pink lights to promote breast cancer awareness.
