The Rush Sports Medical team and the Mississippi State University Strength and Conditioning staff will be on hand Friday at East Central Community College to give coaches insights in how sports injuries can be properly treated and prevented.
The all-day Sports Medicine Symposium will feature material beneficial to all sports. The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration at the Gold Room in the Mabry Memorial Cafeteria at ECCC in Decatur.
East Central athletic trainer Joey McLeod said the symposium is back after a five year absence.

Some of the subject matter expected to be covered during the symposium include: head trauma, basic taping procedures, lower extremity workouts, upper extremity workouts, field management, emergency action procedures, heat illnesses and CPR certification and C-spine management.
The cost of the symposium will be $15 and the fee will include the luncheon and a t-shirt. All proceeds will benefit the East Central Student Athletic Trainer Fund.
