Man charged in drive-by shooting

Daniel Robert, 25, of 3520 11th St., was arrested Tuesday night after a chase with police.
Robert had been sought in connection with two shootings in Meridian, including an incident Feb. 19, when Meridian resident Willy Williams drove himself to the hospital after being shot in the leg. Williams was injured in a drive-by shooting at the corner of 15th Street and 34th Avenue.
Robert was charged with drive-by shooting and shooting into a dwelling.
Robert was also charged with aggravated assault in c
onnection with a March 1 shooting, in which a Meridian man was injured at Old Marion Road and 19th Street. Police would not release the identity of the injured person.
Meridian police spokesman Detective Deano Harper would not comment on whether other arrests linked to the shootings are possible.
