UNION Services for Eva M. Pinson will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Truhett and Lin Chesney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pinson, 67, of Little Rock, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Bishop, two grandsons, Neil Bishop and his wife, Michelle, and Kevin Bishop, all of Little Rock; her mother, Virginia Sexton Depriest of Morton; six sisters, Doshia Prestage of Forest, Hazel Coly, Ruthie Thomas, Euna Stuart, Dorothy Prestage and Emily Hynes, all of Morton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Pinson.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
DEASON LAMAR PACE
Retired counselor
Services for Deason Lamar Pace will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack O. Giles officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Pace, 73, of Meridian, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in world War II and the Korean War. He also served in the National Guard. He held a counseling position at Laurel Wood and Meridian Regional Hospital. He was a volunteer counselor at NAS Meridian and Mississippi State Hospital. Mr. Pace also held positions at Brookwood Recovery Center in Jackson and Parkside Lodge in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Brashier Pace of Meridian; a son, Rosser L. "Pete" Pace of Florida; two daughters, Caroline Nickle of North Carolina and Debra Lea Mayer of Ohio; a brother, Lewis Pace of Florida; two stepsons, Jim Brashier of Collinsville and Mike Brashier of Causeyville; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.L. and Beatrice Pace; a sister, Jeanne Skinner; a daughter, Katie Pace; and a stepson, John W. Brashier III.
Pallbearers will be George Scarmetta, George Polizzi, Pierce Dickson, Marvin Floyd, harry Peller, Dan Self and Hewitt Staddard.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
HOWARD ATKINSON
Retired civil service NAS Meridian
Memorial services for Howard Atkinson will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Atkinson, 75, of Meridian, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, in his home. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include a stepson, John Earl Pool and his wife, Avon, of Jackson; a daughter, Diane D. Swanner of Marion; two sons, Herman Atkinson and his wife, Denise, of Meridian and Terry Atkinson and his wife, Glenda, of Quitman; four grandchildren, Lisa, Patrick Terence and Thomas; a brother, Ray Atkinson and his wife, Velma, of Chunky; two sisters, Doris McCollum and Odie Wells of Pensacola; and several nieces and nephews.
INA FAYE HORNE
QUITMAN Services for Ina Faye Horne will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Pearlie Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Horne, 47, of Quitman, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her mother, Louella Wallace; a son, Curtis Horne Jr.; two daughters, Patricia Hayes and Shelia Horne; two brothers, Danny Wallace and Bruce Wallace; five sisters, Ethel Wallace, Diane Wallace, Linda Staten, Sandra Pough and Brenda Spott; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild.
Visitation will be Tuesday 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Waynesboro.
RICHARD ALLAN WINSTEAD
Construction worker
PHILADELPHIA Memorial services for Richard Allen Winstead will be held at a later date. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Winstead, 44, of Union, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, in his family home.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Winstead, two sons, James Thomas Winstead and Justin Lee Winstead, his father, James Winstead and his mother, Gladys Winstead, all of Union; and a brother, Roger Winstead of Westmoreland, Tenn.
MARY LYDIA HARRIS
Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton for Mary Lydia Harris, 87, of Hickory, who died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
