OLIVER LEONARD FOREST
Self employed
NEWTON Graveside services for Oliver Leonard Forest will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Newton County Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Brent Parks officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Forest, 82, of Oxford, formerly of Newton, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Newton and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include four daughters, Cynthia Rowell of Collierville, Tenn., Edith Therriot, Marie Bivalacava and Clara Mary Coldena, all of New Orleans; two sons, Ron Forest of Newton and LeRoy Forest of New Orleans; two sisters, Faye Bordelon and Betty Daigle of New Orleans; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Smith Forest; his parents, LeRoy and Marie Sutton Forest.
The family request memorials be made to the Gideon's Memorial Bibles.
Pallbearers will be Neil Forest, Wesley Forest, Kevin Rowell, Tim Rowell, Deanna Forest and Megan Rowell.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
LUCILLE PAYNE
DEKALB Services for Lucille Payne will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Sunflower Baptist Church in Scooba with the Rev. John Balls officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Payne, 63, of Scooba, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include her husband, Jessie L. Payne, her mother, Polly Shields, and a sister, Jane M. Williams, all of Scooba; a brother, Harvey Nicholson Jr. and his wife, Sue, of Shuqualak; and several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation will be Saturday from noon-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
SANDRA ROYCE DUKES
THORNTON, Colo. Memorial services for Sandra Royce Dukes will be in Thornton.
Ms. Dukes, 58, a native of Meridian, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Alpine Living Center in Thornton.
Survivors include her mother, Ina Aileene Dukes of Meridian; three sisters, Chrell Johnson, Toni White and Tracey Alday; a brother, Brad Dukes; her children, Tina Peters, Shannon Roberts and Casey Dukes; four grandchildren and several other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Alvo Dukes; and a son, Trenton Jerrod Dukes.
The family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 079, 2914 Old Marion Rd., Meridian, MS 39301.
