Quitman topples Wayne County

QUITMAN The Quitman High School girls softball team opened their fall season with a 9-6 win over Wayne County here Monday.
Candance Boatner and Gaddy Morgan each hit a home run and a single to pace the Lady Panthers, while Emily Van Landingham added two singles.
Quitman scored three in the third, four in the sixth and two in the seventh. Wayne County scored one in the first, four in the third and one in the seventh.
Quitman visits Meridian tonight at the Sammie Davison Complex. Game time is 7 p.m.
