Meridian advanced to the championship game of the Babe Ruth 13 Only State Tournament with an 8-5 victory over Gulfport on a wet and soggy Saturday night at Meridian Community College's Scaggs Field.
Tyler McMullen picked up the pitching win, while Drew Snider also saw some mound duty and added a double and single and two RBI at the plate.
Tyler Vick smacked three singles to drive in a pair of runs and Jay Stoddard added a couple of singles.
Gulfport was paced by Blake Riggins double, single and two RBI.
Meridian, which has yet to lose a game in the tourney, will play in Sunday night's 6 p.m. title game against the winner of Sunday's 3 p.m. loser's bracket contest.
Gulfport will face the winner of Saturday night's late game that pitted Vicksburg and Corinth.
Earlier in the day Saturday, Corinth eliminated Columbus 11-10 in eight innings, while Vicksburg sent Leakesville home with a 22-9 victory.
The Meridian 14's were also playing Saturday night, but at last report were in a rain delay in the Babe Ruth State Tournament being played in Jackson.
