Godwin, Akin

Mr. and Mrs. James E. Godwin of Selma, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Deborah Ann, to Daniel Thomas Akin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Akin of Crossett, Ark.
The wedding will be held Saturday, July 21, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Meridian Church of Christ.
Miss Godwin is the granddaughter of Melanie Godwin of Selma and the late Elbert Godwin.
The bride-elect received a bachelor's degree from Auburn University. She is an honors graduate of Abilene Christian University, where she received a master's degree.
While in college, she was a member of the Student Government Association and president of Alpha Alpha Alpha.
Miss Godwin is employed by Clarkdale High School.
The bridegroom-elect received a bachelor's degree from Austin Peay State University and is retired from the U.S. Army. He is employed by Georgia Pacific in Crossett, Ark.
A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend.
