Russellville 8U Rookie All-Stars advance

The Russellville Dixie Youth Baseball 8U Rookie All-Stars won the district tournament that was played in Muscle Shoals.

By winning the district tournament, they advance to the state tournament, which begins this Saturday, July 5.

They defeated Phil Campbell, Haleyville, Brooks and Greenhill all-star teams in a five-team round robin tournament for the win and advancement to the state tournament.

In random order the team’s members are: Devin Jones, Hayden Pennington, Devin Green, Shayden Romans, Brennon Thorpe, Mason Herring, Dawson Higgins, Levi Lawler, Malachi Gholston, Neyland Baker, Malachi Duncan and Maddox Cochran. Head Coach: Shane Lawler. Assistant Coaches: Melvin Young, Josh Cochran and David Romans.
