UNA and TVHS hosting scholarship competition

The University of North Alabama (UNA) and Tennessee Valley Historical Society (TVHS) are pleased to announce an exceptional opportunity to win scholarship money.

The scholarships, worth $750, $500 and $250, will be given away at the UNA and TVHS 30th annual History Scholarship Competition to be held on March 7, at the UNA Guilott University Center in Florence from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The scholarship competition is limited to high school seniors and juniors. Participants complete a written test on U.S. and World History.

Seniors with the top two scores on the exam will receive a one-time scholarship of $750 and $500 and the top junior will receive a $250 scholarship to attend UNA.

In addition to the scholarship exam, students will have the opportunity to participate in a public history enrichment activity; and explore the campus and community and see how history can be a vital part of their every-day lives. Students will be provided lunch.

High schools and student individual registration may be made via email at mgraham2@una.edu or HISTORY@UNA.EDU.

For more information contact Jeffrey R. Bibbee, Ph.D. Associate Professor, Dept. of History & Political Science 256-765 4306 or email: jrbibbee@una.edu.
