Red Cross names Russellville native as new district executive

The Alabama Region American Red Cross is excited to announce that Khris Anderson has been selected as the North Alabama District Executive.

Anderson’s professional experience has taken her through the fields of advertising, medical sales, and most recently, non-profit work.

“To find someone with Khris’ extensive background and level of experience was fortunate,” said Fred Holland, board chair and operator of Focus Radio Communications TKI/WEKI. “She has certainly hit the ground running. I’m excited for our chapter and district.”

Anderson grew up in Russellville and graduated from the University of Alabama. Thus far, most of her career has been in magazine and television advertising until she decided to make a career change to medical sales.

Before coming to Red Cross, Anderson served as a regional director of another non-profit. Anderson currently lives in Elkmont with her husband and 15-year-old daughter. The Andersons also have a 20-year-old son who attends the University of South Alabama.

“I have worked my whole life focused on numbers and goals; the Red Cross offers me the opportunity to focus on lives changed,” Anderson said.

“Changing lives is as the heart of the North Alabama volunteers and staff and I am so excited to join them in their work. There are currently 10 counties in my district and I plan to make sure that they are fully prepared and covered by the Red Cross.”

The public is invited to an open house to meet Anderson and learn more about getting involved with the Red Cross. The event will be held on Nov. 12, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the chapter office located at 1101 Washington Street, Huntsville, Ala. 35801.

The North Alabama District of the American Red Cross provides services to the residents of 10 counties including Colbert, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan.

The North Alabama District has four locations, a main office in Huntsville and chapter offices in Decatur, Florence, and Guntersville.
