Waypoint Church hosts Easter egg hunt
RUSSELLVILLE – Waypoint Church held an Easter event at Sloss Lake Friday afternoon.
The free event included photos with the Easter bunny, music (including children singing on stage), food and inflatables.

Rabbits were on hand for those who wanted to pet or watch them. For the children, an Easter egg hunt meant prizes inside eggs. Adults had the opportunity to win door prizes.
Kori Johnson and her husband, Dylan Johnson, are youth leaders with the church.

“My favorite part of the event was seeing the kids have fun,” said Kori. “We want to thank all who attended. I hope everyone had a good time together.”

Dylan said the church directors thought the inaugural event would be a good opportunity for community outreach.
“Big Star donated 400 hot dogs,” he said. “We certainly appreciate that. And IGA donated with gift cards for water. We hope this outreach helps lead people to the Lord.”

Kayla Frederick watched over the rabbits during the event.
“I like for kids to come out and see farm animals,” Frederick said. “With it being Easter, there’s nothing better than some lop-eared bunnies.”
Husband and wife Jamie and Holly Randolph manage the children’s ministry.

“We want to serve the community and for people to know that we are here for them,” Jamie said. “If they are looking for a home church, we’re the place to be.”
