Red Bay softball off to hot start

The Red Bay softball team is off to a hot start improving their record to 4-1 after two weeks. This week the Tigers beat Covenant Christian 11-4 and Tremont 8-7 while falling to Hackleburg 3-2.

Against Covenant, Charley Lindley earned the win. She gave up four hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two and walking four.

Bella Blackburn had a hit, two RBIs and scored twice. McKenna Young had a hit and scored twice. Lexie Medina and Bella Blackburn scored twice.

Against Tremont, the Tiger bats were hot. Red Bay had multiple extra base hits, including a triple by Bella Blackburn and doubles by Emma Blackburn and Mikayela Jackson. Kyla Blackburn had two singles and scored twice. Young scored twice. Jackson also had two RBIs.

Hadley Griffin got the win in the circle.

In the 3-2 loss to Hackleburg, Young singled, scored and had an RBI.

Despite the loss, Lindley pitched four innings, allowed just three hits and struck out six.
