PC softball splits 4 games
The Phil Campbell Bobcats picked up two wins this week over the Covenant Christian Eagles and dropped two games late in the week to Mississippi schools Phil Campbell beat Covenant Christian 12-2 on Monday. The Bobcats dominated from the start taking a 3-0 lead in the first and extending the lead to 9-0 in the second. The Bobcats scored 12 runs on six hits and committed four errors. The Eagles scored two runs on two hits and committed five errors.
Tinlee Parker went 2-for-2 with a double, a RBI and scored twice. Madison Baker had a hit, two RBIs and scored a run. Addie James had a hit and two RBIs. Chaley Bullington, Georgia Motes and Shiloh Madden all scored two runs.
James pitched a complete game two-hitter and struck out five.
On Tuesday, Phil Campbell and Covenant battled down to the wire with the Bobcats coming out on top 11-10. Phil Campbell led the Eagles 5-4 after one inning, but Covenant took a 10-9 lead after two innings. The Bobcats tied the game in the third and took the lead in the fourth.
Phil Campbell scored 11 runs on eight hits and committed just one error. Covenant scored 10 runs on seven hits and committed five errors.
Mackenzie Kratz had a big game going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and scored three runs. Parker went 2-for-3 with a double with two RBIs and scored a run. Bullington doubled twice and scored twice. Kaitlin Hester had a hit and two RBIs.
To end the week, the Bobcats were shut out by the Belmont Cardinals 6-0 and failed to get a hit, and then fell to Tishomingo County 8-4.
The Bobcats piled up eight hits but couldn’t get the runners across the plate. Parker went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and scored a run. Madden had two hits and two RBIs. Motes scored twice.
