Belgreen High School’s third annual Hoopin’ 4 Hope raised $1,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Alabama.

Sixteen teams participated in the 3 on 3 double elimination basketball tournament.

The Dunkin’ Doughnuts pulled off the win following some stiff competition from the Night Owls. Team members included Braycen Johnson, Miguel Cruz-Perez, Gabriel Estrada and Jonathan Mendoza. Each member won a trophy, a gift card to Ethos Athletic Club and $25 cash.

The school’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Club organizes and helps with the event, including selling concessions, and school staff monitors the scoreboards and runs clocks.

“I am very proud of my FCCLA officers and members for exemplifying the principles of FCCLA by being community leaders and raising money to help children with critical illnesses find hope,” said FCCLA sponsor Mimi Wood. “Thank you to everyone who helped make the event a success. It is awesome to have so many students and faculty participate in an event together and watch the student body cheer on all the teams.”
