All American Tang Soo Do students recognized

Students of All American Tang Soo Do participated in a championship competition in Houma, Louisiana, April 20.
All American Tang Soo Do is a martial arts studio located in Russellville at American Health & Fitness. The studio is owned by Fifth Degree Master Tom Jones who is the chief instructor. Classes are taught in Russellville, AL from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. There are also classes in Haleyville at the Recreational Center from 4-5 p.m. and 5-6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

All American Tang Soo Do is a member of the World Tang Soo Do Association (WTSDA), which is headquartered in Burlington, North Carolina. The Association’s Grandmaster is Dr. William Strong from Killen, AL, who is a Ninth Degree Grandmaster in the association, and who is also a Professor Emeritus of Geography from the University of North Alabama.

All American Tang Soo Do is a member of Region 6 in the WTSDA, which comprises the states of Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Tennessee. Members of the studio and others within the region compete twice a year in regional tournaments, with one in the spring and one in the fall. There is also a World Championship held every two years in Greensboro, North Carolina, currently scheduled for July of this year. Alternating with the World Championship is the US National Championship, also every two years with the next being scheduled in 2025.
