Local churches plan Vacation Bible School programs

Vacation Bible School is a cornerstone of summertime for many, and the following churches are preparing to host their special programs.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church VBSJune 1 

Come join the fun at the movies and arise and shine at Mt. Zion Baptist Church VBS. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with lunch and snacks provided. The church is located at 25 Mt. Zion Road, Russellville. 

Pleasant Hill VBSJune 2-5 

Pleasant Hill Church, located at 10366 Count Road 81 in Phil Campbell, will have a Vacation Bible School June 2-5 from 6-8 p.m. Ages 2 through teenager. Theme is “Shine the Light of Jesus in the World.” 

Rainforest Safari VBSJune 2-5 

North Russellville Baptist Church, 1401 Waterloo Road in Russellville, will hold a Rainforest Safari VBS from 6-8 p.m. June 3-5, with a kick-off event June 2 at 5 p.m. at the Russellville Splash Pad.  

Russellville First Methodist Church VBSJune 2-6  

Russellville First Methodist will kick off VBS June 2 at 5 p.m. at the church, 311 N. Jackson Ave., Russellville, with a bounce house, games, cotton candy, popcorn and snowcones. VBS will continue June 3-6 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. nightly. Theme is Mission: Deep Sea. For more information call Cristy Allen at 256-324-0406.  

Red Bay FBC VBSJune 2-6 

First Baptist Church of Red Bay’s Vacation Bible School will continue through June 6 from 5-8 p.m. nightly. Sessions are for ages 3 through sixth grade, with Family Night on Thursday. The theme is Jungle Journey. 

Siloam VBSJune 9-11 

Siloam Missionary Baptist Church will hold a VBS June 9 from 5-7 p.m. and June 10-11 from 6-8:15 p.m. This event is for ages 2 through adult. There will be dinner each night, games, crafts fun and learning about Jesus. The theme is “Arise, Shine, For Thy Light is Come.” The church is located at 1657 Highway 60 in Russellville. 

Tharptown’s Breaker Rock Beach VBSJune 9-12 

Tharptown Baptist Church will hold Breaker Rock Beach VBS June 9-12 from 6-8:30 p.m. nightly. Ages 3 years through sixth grade are invited to attend. 

Russellville FBC VBSJune 23-26 

Russellville First Baptist Church will host Breaker Rock Beach Vacation Bible School June 23-26, from 6-8:30 p.m. each night. Classes are for 3-year-olds through fifth grade. The church is located at 213 N. Jackson Ave., in downtown Russellville. 

Divine Baptist Church VBSJune 23-28 

Divine Baptist Church, 15099 Highway 243 in Russellville, will host its Great Jungle Journey Vacation Bible School June 23-28, from 6-8:30 p.m. Sessions are for toddlers through fifth grade.  

Cowboy Church VBSJuly 6, 8-12 

The Cowboy Church of Franklin County will be having a VBS kickoff July 6 starting at 3 p.m., then VBS will run from July 8-12 from 6-8:30 p.m. nightly. The church is located at 25100 Highway 24, Russellville. 

Cedars Church VBSJuly 18-20 

Cedars Church will have Vacation Bible School for ages 4 through fifth grade, July 18-20. Thursday and Friday sessions will be from 6-8:30 p.m., and Saturday will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church is located at 109 W. Lawrence St., in Russellville.
