Hershell Lindsey

Hershell Lindsey, 88, passed away peacefully April 14. He was born in Vina Aug. 26, 1935. He was a long-time employee of Square D in Leeds and retired from EBSCO in Birmingham. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Leeds and a former member and deacon at Valley View Baptist Church in Leeds.

Hershell was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Nancy Lindsey and his sisters Delphia Clark, Earline Humphres, Ruth Clements and Shirley Smith. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Lindsey, daughters Dr. Pam Key, Rachel Meads (Joe) and Nancy Howell (Todd), grandchildren Jon Meads (Claire), Lindsey Patterson (Micah), Emily Howell and Timothy Howell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Hershell was held Friday April 19 at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds from 12:30-2 p.m. and a service at 2 p.m. with graveside following at Forest Crest Cemetery in Irondale. Memorials can be sent to First Baptist Church Leeds Youth or Music Department, 7481 Parkway Drive, Leeds, AL 35094.
