Earl Richard Snodgrass

Earl Richard Snodgrass, 90, of Russellville, Ala., and previously of Brundidge, Ala., was called home to be with his Lord on Friday, August 25, while in Helen Keller Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 3, at Praise Tabernacle Church, 12232 Hwy 43 South, Russellville, Ala. The Snodgrass family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m., with a memorial service directly following. Pastors Bobby Stancil & Sammy Taylor will be officiating.  
Mr. Earl is survived by his son, Mark (Tammie) Snodgrass; daughter, Susan Nave; uncle, Wayne (Rose) Weldy; special family friend, Nellie Swartwood; grandchildren, Heather (Brandon) Helms; Kesli (Drew) Martin; Kara (Derick) Kerr; Anthony James; great-grandchildren: Vincent Helms; Braxton, Carson and Madaline Martin; Lizzie and Bella Poores; Ashlyn Kerr; Casein James.  
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Nellie Sue Snodgrass; his parents, Newton L. and Mattie Helen Snodgrass, six brothers and three sisters.  
Earl was a devout Christian, husband, father, friend, pastor and member of the Army. He served for two years in the Army at the end of World War II in Germany. He was also a pastor of various churches for almost 50 years. He was an avid collector of Massey Harris tractors and lawn mowers and had numerous friends made from his hobby of collecting.  
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of the ICU and fourth floor of Helen Keller Hospital for their exceptional care and support during his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Franklin County Gideons for the placement of Bibles.
