Four arrested in drug seizures

A joint investigation between Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Russellville Police Department resulted in four arrests and approximately 2,500 Fentanyl pills seized. On July 13, 2023, a Franklin County deputy, with the assistance of Russellville Police, made a traffic stop on Jackson Avenue inside the city limits of Russellville.

Joel Davis and Angel Morgan were the occupants of the stopped vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. During the arrest of Morgan, deputies found approximately 1,000 fentanyl pills concealed in her clothing.

Morgan was charged with drug trafficking and drug paraphernalia. Davis was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Morgan also had warrants for unrelated drug offenses and community corrections violations.

On July 14, 2023, investigators arrested Ayanna McCullough and Davontae Goodloe after a couple of months of investigation between Franklin County deputies and Russellville police. Both were charged with drug trafficking after the two were found to be in possession of approximately 1,500 fentanyl pills.

McCullough and Goodloe were together during a traffic stop when they were arrested, and investigators seized the pills and $4,500 in cash. The Alabama Drug Enforcement task force assisted in the July 14 arrests.

All four were booked into the Franklin County Detention Center and will need to see a judge for a bond hearing. Additional charges and arrests are expected. Both incidents were the result of the Franklin County sheriff’s office and Russellville police department working together to remove the 2,500 fentanyl pills from the streets. The pills have a street value of more than $20,000.
