Cultura Garden Club beautifies downtown Russellville

For a little more than 10 years, the Cultura Garden Club has been preparing, placing and watering flower baskets in downtown Russellville.

“We keep doing this because we enjoy adding to the beautification of downtown and making our city look more welcoming,” said club member Susie Hovater Malone.

“It helps make downtown more inviting and draws people into downtown,” she added. “It’s a therapeutic and relaxing hobby, and we have fun together.”

Other club members agreed with her sentiments.
“I love seeing the outcome,” explained Donna Lowery, longtime flower gardener. She joined the group last year, after moving to the area from Pensacola, Fla.

“We look forward to working on this together, and we’re a fun, welcoming bunch. Everybody shares a lot, and you learn a lot. It’s a lot of fun.”
