Russellville softball team boasts blend of youth, experience

The Russellville Lady Golden Tigers have a good mix of youth and experience for the 2022 softball season.

Head coach Josh Graham enters his third season at Russellville High School, and Lindsey Johnson is a new addition to the coaching staff this year, working with the pitchers.

RHS is building into a consistent program under the leadership of Graham, and the team features talented players at multiple positions. All players on the roster will contribute and see playing time.

In the outfield, Summer Butler returns in center, while Tori Tiffin is back after playing a year on the tennis team. They will be joined by Maddy Green and Natalie Nichols.

Infielders include Jenna Whitfield, Jacey Moore, Emma Campbell, Paislee James, Jaiden Calvert, Melissa Aparisio and Addison Holcomb.

Look for Moore, James, Tiffin and Holcomb to share time in the pitching circle.

Russellville had improvement at the end of this past season, going on a winning run on the road in the area tournament, and will look to build on that success and experience.

“What we did last year and the way that we got hot at the end of the year, making a run in the regionals – I see us being able to compete to host this year and hopefully get back to Florence,” Graham said.. “Everybody wants to get to Oxford for the state tournament.”

RHS is joined in Class 5A, Area 15, by Lawrence County and West Point.
