Belgreen baseball squashes Brilliant

The Belgreen Bulldogs improved to 6-1 this past week with an easy 14-3 win over the Brilliant Tigers.

Belgreen scored 14 runs on seven hits and took advantage of some less-than-Brilliant fielding, with the Tigers committing six errors.

Belgreen took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning then proceeded to score two more in the second, six in the third, two in the fourth and two in the fifth for the blowout win.

Canaan Stough had three RBIs on a bases-clearing triple, and he scored two runs.

Cole King went two-for-three with a double and an RBI and scored two runs.

Will King and Caige Smith had two RBIs each. Brodie Vandiver added a double.

Belgreen sent three to the mound. Alex Guidry pitched three innings; he allowed one hit and no earned runs and struck out four. Cole King pitched an inning, allowing no hits and two earned runs, and he walked three. Alex Jarnigan also pitched an inning, allowing a hit and striking out two.
