Red Bay Tigers topple Vina Red Devils with 13-3 finish on diamond

The Red Bay Tigers pounded out 11 hits in five innings to beat Vina 13-3 this past week.

The Tigers scored three runs in the first inning, five in the second and four in fourth to run away from the Red Devils.

Eli Farris went three-for-four with three RBIs in the game. Farris also legged out an inside-the-park home run.

The Tigers got a double and two RBIs each from B.P. Blair and Landon Glover. Blair scored three runs, Glover scored two runs, and Ty Reynolds scored two runs.

Vina scored first when Grayson Ridge crossed the plate on a fielder’s choice to give the Red Devils a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

Red Bay responded immediately in the bottom half of the inning. Reynolds tied the game, scoring on an error.  The Tigers took the lead when Jeremiah Thorne scored on a sacrifice fly.

Blair scored on an error to extend Red Bay’s lead to 3-1.

Red Bay added five insurance runs in the bottom of the second inning.

Glover started the game for Red Bay, pitching an inning and two-thirds, allowing one hit and four walks.

Blair was the winning pitcher, going two innings. He allowed four hits, two runs and four walks.

Vina got two hits, two runs and an RBI from Ridge. Alex Hargett had two hits and an RBI.
