Q&A with Anna Woods, RHS tennis senior

Q: How old were you when you started playing tennis?

A: 12 years old

Q: Was there anyone special in your life who helped you become a great player, and how?

A: So many people have helped me become a great player, but Cathy Payne was the first person who got me started in the game.

Q: How do you get ready for a match?

A: I stretch good and make sure I have everything I need to play.

Q: What do you like to do when you are not involved with tennis?

A: Hang out with friends

Q: What factors do you feel have influenced you the most to become the player and person you are today?

A: I think my dedication and hard work have helped me become the player I am today.

Q: Did you have any routines or superstitions before or in a match?

A: One superstition is when I walk onto the court for the first time, I don’t step on the lines.

Q: What is your favorite tennis memory?

A: I have so many, but tennis has given me great friends.

Q: What tennis player has influenced you most in the game? Why?

A: All professional women tennis players inspire me to work hard.

Q: What is life after being a tennis player for you?

A: After college, I hope to be a math teacher.

Q: What are your thoughts on your season coming to an abrupt end?

A: It was upsetting to hear the news, but our safety matters most.
