Hester Geneva Trapp Benford

Hester Geneva Trapp Benford, 80, of Phil Campbell passed away March 15 at Russellville Hospital.

Geneva was the daughter of the late Orbie John (Skeeter) Trapp and Velma Morgan Trapp. She was born and lived most of her life in Franklin County. She was a graduate of Phil Campbell High School. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who supported her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild by attending most of their sporting and other activities.

The funeral service will be held March 17 at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, with burial in Union Hill Cemetery. Officiating will be Merrell Potter and Darryl Whitehead.  

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m.

She is survived by her sons, Randy Benford, Bill Benford, Jed Benford, Kelvin (Nater) Benford and wife Karrie all of Phil Campbell, and daughter, Shalain Benford, Tuscumbia; sister, Whonnonia (Tootsie) Craig, Moulton; grandchildren, Tanna, Tatum, Jordan and wife Amber, Anna, Mattie, Skeeter, Elizabeth, Rhett and Trey; and great-granddaughter Lacey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter-in-law, Tish Benford.

 Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
