Best wishes to Belgreen softball

When it comes to spring sports, action on the diamond is almost over.

Our local teams gave great effort this year, and we’re proud of how far many of our local teams made it into the postseason. Congratulations especially go to the Phil Campbell baseball team, the only Franklin County baseball program to make it into the semifinals.

With their unfortunate loss in the semis, however, and some tough losses for most of our softball teams in their regional showdowns, it’s down to one team to represent Franklin County at the all-important state championships: the Belgreen Lady Bulldogs.

We wanted to share a big “atta girl” for the Bulldogs, who won three of their four games at regionals to advance even further in the postseason. They are in Montgomery now, playing for “all the marbles,” and we’re certainly proud of their hard work this season. Congratulations, Lady Bulldogs! We know you’ll make us proud at state.
