THS girls get two area wins

The Tharptown Wildcats picked up two area wins last week over Colbert County and Sheffield.

The Colbert County game was never in doubt, as Tharptown took a 6-0 lead into the fourth inning and added to it from there.

Olivia Ergle struck out 15 batters, allowed two earned runs and gave up four hits.

Taylor Cameron led the way at the plate with three hits, including two doubles and three RBIs, and scored two runs.

Olivia Darracott had three hits and three RBIs and scored a run. Brooke Daily had two hits and two RBIs and scored two runs. Shaylee Weiting had two hits and scored twice. Catie Dawson also scored twice.

In the Sheffield game, Tharptown broke open a tight game in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring five runs to beat the Bulldogs 7-4.

Cameron struck out 12 batters, allowing three earned runs on three hits. She also doubled and had an RBI at the plate.

Weiting, Morgan Vandiver, Madison Vandiver, Kyndall Morgan, Dawson, Harleigh Borden and Macy Petree all scored one run each in the game.
