Belgreen triumphs in area series over Phillips

The Belgreen Bulldogs swept the Phillips Bears to win a critical area series last week.

Jacob Fleming hit a walk-off single to lead the Bulldogs to an 11-10 series opening win Monday. Fleming had two hits and two RBIs and scored two runs.

Phillips outhit Belgreen nine hits to six hits, but the Bears committed 10 fielding errors.

In game two, Belgreen scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to put Phillips away and go on to win 11-5 and capture the area series. Belgreen was able to get the win despite committing six fielding errors.

Kostner Bryant had two hits and scored two runs. Coby Cox had two hits and scored three runs.
