RMS boys celebrate undefeated season

Russellville seventh-grade boys have remained undefeated this season with a record of 18-0.
In the championship game of the recent Christmas Classic, Russellville beat Mars Hill 38-30, grabbing the victory after wins versus Wilson, 47-9, and Central, 42-17.
Several of the team’s members have been playing together since second grade. “They have worked so hard to get to this point of success,” said parent Jessica Cummings. “We just really want to see the community rally behind them and the Russellville City Schools basketball program. These boys are so talented. We would love to see a crowd come support these athletes.”
A few more home games remain in the middle school team’s season:
• Jan. 5 vs. Deshler, 10 a.m.
• Jan. 8 vs. Winfield, 4:30 p.m.
• Jan. 12 vs. Brooks, 10 a.m.
• Jan. 14 vs. Central, 4:30 p.m.
The eighth-grade girls and boys teams will play on these dates as well, and the seventh-grade girls team will compete Jan. 5 only.
