Lady Red Devils host youth softball camp
Fall is a good time for softball players to work on their skills during the offseason in preparation for the
upcoming season. Elementary students in grades two through six recently took advantage of the
opportunity to participate in the Vina softball camp, which was held Oct. 22-25.
Fourteen young athletes received instruction during the camp that had a focus on introducing and
reinforcing the basic fundamentals for throwing, fielding, hitting and base running.
The VHS Lady Red Devils, led by head coach Jonathan Jones, put on the clinic at the Vina softball field.
Jones said he would like to thank the parents and guardians of the campers, and he also recognized
assistant coach Steven King, Ashely Moomaw and all the Lady Red Devil softball players who helped
make the camp a successful experience.
