Belgreen closes out regular season with sweep of Hackleburg

The Belgreen Bulldogs closed out their regular season Thursday night with a sweep of the Hackleburg Panthers on the road.

The Bulldogs ended the regular season with the most wins and least losses in the program’s history, a record of 20-11.

“We only had three losses to teams in our classification, and both were top five teams in Class 1A (Phillips and Lindsey Lane),” said Belgreen coach Teresa Whitten.

Belgreen will warm up for the area tournament by playing in a tournament at Lawrence County Saturday.

The Bulldogs will play Covenant Christian in the area tournament Oct. 23 at Phillips.
