Invite everyone to your Vacation Bible School
Growing up, one of the highlights of every summer was Vacation Bible School. Although as a child I had a hard time understanding the name of the annual event – “Why would we want to take a vacation from Bible School?” I would ask in wonder – it certainly was a treat I looked forward to with great anticipation as each summer began.
As children at VBS, we don’t always notice the way we are being spiritually strengthened through the weeklong – or three-day, or one-day – event. But as I look back on the VBS of my childhood from the wise old age of 28, I can point to the Bible stories I learned through crafts, songs and activities and how they formed the foundation for my spiritual growth to adulthood.
Numerous churches across Franklin County are now in early stages of planning their Vacation Bible Schools, and we’d like to help you share that information with the community.
Our next Franklin Living magazine will be hot off the press May 2 and will feature a listing of upcoming community events. Among them, we will include the details for the Vacation Bible Schools to be held all over the county.
If you’d like your church to be included, please send us your VBS details by April 12. Include specifics like date and time, theme, ages, registration information and any other pertinent information.
You can send VBS details to alison.james@fct.wpengine.com, and I will make sure they are included in the calendar of events.
Do you have a favorite Vacation Bible School memory? I would love to hear it.
