Ergle throws no-hitter in rout of Hackleburg

Olivia Ergle didn’t allow a single hit as the Tharptown Wildcats went on to 14-1 blowout win over the Hackleburg Panthers.

The Wildcats bats were hot as well, racking up 12 hits on the day.

Aly Vandiver, Brooke Daily, Catie Dawson, Shaylee Wieting and Taylor Cameron all had doubles on the day for the Wildcats.

Catie Dawson had a big day at the plate, going three-for-four with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Ameliah Dawson and Olivia Ergle had two-hit games.

Wieting scored three runs, and Linda Bahena scored two runs.

Cameron had a three-RBI game, and Wieting knocked two runners in as well.

Olivia Ergle struck out nine Panther batters in the game.

Tharptown 10, Colbert County 4

The Tharptown Wildcats exploded out of the gate with an eight-run first inning to go on to an easy 10-4 win over the Colbert County Indians.

Wieting scored first on a passed ball. Cara Ergle followed that up with an RBI double scoring Taylor Cameron. Cara Ergle scored on a single by Ameilah Dawson to give the Bobcats a 3-0 lead.

The Dawson sisters both scored on a single by Kyndall Morgan. Morgan and Aly Vandiver scored on a double by Wieting, who batted for the second time in the inning. Cameron, in her second plate appearance of the inning, singled in Wieting to give the Wildcats an 8-0 lead.

Tharptown scored two more runs in the second inning to make it 10-0. Colbert County scored one in the second and three in the third before the game was called.

Cameron, Daily and Catie Dawson all had two-hit nights. Morgan had a three-RBI game.

Cameron also got the win and struck out four batters.
