Three arrested in Russellville shooting

A Jan. 20 shooting in Russellville has resulted in three arrests by the Russellville Police Department.

One man was reportedly shot in an altercation in the parking lot between Dollar General and KFC in Russellville. According to Chief Chris Hargett, three men have been arrested in conjunction with the shooting: Victor Barrera, 20, of Russellville; Martin Pedro, 23, of Russellville; and Rogelio Garza, 24, of Russellville. Each was charged with attempted murder.

According to RPD investigators, those arrested were identified as suspects based on cooperation with witnesses and known associates.

According to a witness who was in the drive-thru line at KFC, approximately four or five shots were fired. The shooting victim ran toward Russellville Hospital on foot before being picked up by another driver and taken to the hospital. After being treated at Russellville Hospital, he was later transferred to Huntsville.

The RPD is still seeking one additional suspect, according to investigators.

Barrera remains in Franklin County Jail, while Pedro has bonded out. Garza is in custody in Memphis, Tenn., with an active warrant.
