Shirley Lewey Scott

Shirley Lewey Scott, 73, passed away Jan. 12 at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield. She was born in Alabama and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Services were Jan. 15 at 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Joseph Scott officiating. Burial was in Burnout Cemetery, Vina.

Survivors are two sons, Steven Scott and wife Regina and Phillip Scott, all of Vina; three grandchildren, Kelly McKenzie Bartkoski, Allison Scott and Lacey Beth Scott; two great-grandsons, Barrett Bartkoski and Jaxson Ridgeway; one brother, Villious Lewey and wife Sheila, Russellville; one sister, Marvalene Hardin and husband Archie, Vina; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Gandy, Russellville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.F.Scott; her parents, George Lewey and Annie Strickland Lewey; one brother, Jerry Lewey; and one sister, Earnestine Gandy.

Pallbearers were Jared Mitchell, Caleb Mitchell, Brady Hovater, Hunter Lewey, Jackson Scott and Jay Stutchman. Honorary pallbearer was Travis Betterton.

Visitation was Jan. 15 from noon to 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
