Library kicks off summer reading program
Russellville Public Library brings new life to summer reading each year with a program that includes special guests like magicians, balloon artists and a few reptilian friends.
Russellville Public Library is encouraging children to keep reading this summer with an active slate of programs to keep reading fun.
The annual summer reading program will kick off June 17 at 1 p.m., and special events are planned for each Friday through July 22. This year’s featured guests and activities will include:
- June 17 Kick-off: McWane Science Center
- June 24: The Doctor (balloon artist)
- July 1: Runaway Puppet Theatre
- July 8: Magician Russell Davis
- July 15: Yarbrough’s Educational Reptiles
- July 22: Final program and awards
The library will also be reading weekly during Russellville Parks and Recreation’s meal program at the Chucky Mullins and Ralph Bishop recreation centers, starting June 13.
