The Russellville High School boys’ tennis team played Florence High School March 21. However, the boys came up a little short against Florence, which proved to be too much for the Golden Tigers, beating Russellville 1-8.

The boys team also played Sheffield March 22 with more favorable results for the Golden Tigers, who brought home a 9-0 win.

The RHS girls’ tennis team played Deshler March 22. In singles matches, Grace Mitchell won 10-6 and Maleia Gist won 11-9. Lariza Garcia DelGado lost 9-11; Addie Scruggs lost 1-10; Rebecca Parrish lost 7-10 and Emma Claire Bragwell lost 6-10.

In girls doubles, Mitchell and Gist won 10-0 against Deshler. DelGado and Scruggs and Parrish and Bragwell lost their matches. The RHS girls lost to Deshler 3-9.

Both RHS boys and girls’ next tennis matches are scheduled for April 11 at Russellville Tennis Courts against Central High School.
