Virginia Nell McClendon

Virginia Nell McClendon was born March 7, 1923 in Hackleburg, and passed away Nov. 28, 2015 in Atlanta Ga., having spent the past 50 years in Tucker, Ga. She was the daughter of Joseph & Mamie Foster of Russellville. Virginia devoted her life to her beloved husband, J.B. McClendon (1913-2005) & her family.

She is survived by her sister Louise Whitten of Huntsville, her brother William Foster of Russellville, three children, Glenda Delk of Roswell Ga., Sarah Nelle and husband, Maitreya Wexler, Joseph McClendon of Lawrenceville Ga., seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

As an entrepreneur, she owned several small businesses, and later became a successful salesman & CLU for New York Life. Virginia & J.B. were devout members of Northlake Church of Christ in Tucker, Ga. She was a warm, loving mother, fabulous cook, seamstress, and gardener. She enjoyed spending time with friends in bridge club, garden club, as well as enjoying square dance club with her husband which toured Europe as Goodwill Ambassadors.

Virginia passed away after a sudden illness with her family at her side. Her memorial service will be held Dec. 19, 2015 at 1p.m. at Northlake Church of Christ, 1625 Cooledge Rd, Tucker, Ga. 30084. Additional information at stewartfh.com.
